Following several online meetings with the SHORES partners, the University of Aveiro team gathered to visit ECOMARE, a Laboratory for Innovation and Sustainability of Marine Biological Resources at the University of Aveiro. This unique structure at the national level is a research center dedicated to marine sciences and, at the same time, a research and rehabilitation center for marine animals. Helena Marinho, Paulo Maria Rodrigues, Henrique Portovedo, Hélder Caixinha, Ana Luísa Veloso, and Andreia Parente were welcomed by scientists of the ECOMARE team, who showed them the facilities, the research conducted there, and pointed out some of the problems and current interventions in the coastal areas of Aveiro. We are looking forward to a future collaboration between ECOMARE and SHORES!
