The workshop Drifting Sounds: A Laboratory of Listening and Sound Creation aims to awaken awareness and foster a relational understanding of and with the local landscape, inviting participants to engage in a creative, open, and multidisciplinary exercise of imaginary cartography. The starting point will be a sensitive approach to the surroundings of the Ria de Aveiro — particularly its soundscape — through a “sound walk” accompanied by the collection of both material and immaterial elements. Participants will then be challenged to engage in a series of performative “experiences” using the collected sonic and visual elements, among others, both analog and digital. These experiences will gradually unfold into the creation of a “collective composition,” inspired by the concept of “imaginary sound cartography.” The workshop will culminate in a public sharing of the results in the form of a performance and an open conversation with the audience.
Daily sessions for families (ages 6+) at the Fábrica Centro Ciência Viva de Aveiro: June 28 and 29, 2025, from 10am to 5pm (includes a light lunch)
